Why do people being resistance to new ideas?
Not all but there people out there who doesnt seem to welcome new ideas thrown to them. Well, firstly because of education and secondly information. Sometimes, it is hard to accept new things in our life especially when we feel threaten. That's common. As for me, I do feel the exact same way sometimes.
But the thing is, we usually snapped too early before our mind couldnt even think deeply and even before our eyes couldnt even blink. This refers to education and information I mentioned earlier. Educated people usually thinks in both ways, pros and cons before jumping into silly or emotional conclusion. They will relate their knowledge to the situations/conflicts they're in. Same goes to information. We must get the facts right. Miscommunication is not a new problem to mankind. This has lead to several catastrophe all around the world. That might be too big for us to think of. Let's just get back to our own self.
Sometimes, new is good and sometimes it is not. Dont judge things with a narrow point of view. Take a look around as Limp Bizkit might say in the M:I:2 soundtrack. Get educated and get the right information before resisting new ideas or even comments. Besides, we're only human. It's such a waste if we decline to something we never even try. Who knows, "that" something could've change our lives to being better?
Just some thoughts... Cheers!

sometimes it is not about the info or knowledge and stuff dude.. sometimes the way they had been brought up. i have met those educated people person but so negative or so prejudice in their thinking. they cant accept this and that because that is what they believe. their ancestors taught them to always think negative about others or about new thing(hey.. they do y'know)..
sesia je mak bapak korang anto korang belaja melangit.. tp berfikiran nun jauh ke lutut...
"Why do people being resistance to new ideas?"
Any new idea threatens the status quo, and people in general just don't like to have their interests threatened. Anything new is also an unknown; and people often fear things they do not know or comprehend.
So the resistence is only to be expected. People need convincing.
it's not the time to talk about how THOSE people could/would accept new ideas. It's time to talk about how new ideas can penetrate the system. Went through this hassle lots of times for so many years, and the best thing to do to see your ideas are done is NOT to let them know that it's a new idea. Just DO it! Most of the times the ideas are done without them even realize it. Some times they do realize it, but since the ideas turned out to give good results, they either kept quiet or they claimed the credits.
So what? The most important thing is that our ideas are made in the interest of the organisation - the interest of the many!
by the way, I got to know that they are now paying some 'commission' (though on blardy stupid calculation) to those bringing in new 'business', and had started to plan manpower based upon calculated ratio - both of which were ideas being rejected by the very people who are implementing them now. I just hope they do it properly. The implementation is not as simple as it seems, or as they thought, though.
nina: the point you brought up, is good factor too. thanks for reminding.
nazri: too much convincing = time = cost. try looking it at our education system... at the early stage. "they" must also focus in creative thinking aspects.
najwa aiman: good one. kengkadang cakap banyak pun tak guna. baik buat je. as for the issue in italic, they're actually in the midst of designing the mechanism. gua malas nak ambik port, pegi mam je lah. esok agak2 nak terlangkup, gua mintak la keje kat sime darby... kehkehkeh...
"Let's just get back to our own self"
that seem's like the end thinking of those conventional people. I am half conventional, as i take some time to follow new ideas. people like us, tend to worry too much on the negative side. as there are stakes to think about. only when we see the fruits, that we dare to venture into new ideas. the track records of 'promising' new ideas turn sour are just too many for us to just ignore or be taken lightly.
